2026 English Redubbing Contest

I. Event Description:

This event is organized by the International College to provide students with opportunities to demonstrate their English writing and speaking skills. Through teamwork and the use of multimedia technology, students can showcase creativity. The event also encourages students to try different English learning strategies, enhancing motivation through collaboration and peer learning. Participants must select a video and a segment from the provided list. After removing the original soundtrack and subtitles, they must rewrite the script for that segment and produce a creative dubbed video using their new script.

II. Eligibility:

1. PU students
2. Only group registration is allowed, 2-3 persons per group
3. Each person is limited to attend in one group

III. Registration Method:

Please complete registration and submit the creative redubbing video between November 1, 2026 and December 1, 2026, 17:00.

IV、Contest Guidelines

1.  Participants may select suitable video segments from new media digital broadcasting platforms to create their creative dubbing video.
2. The creative dubbed video (with subtitles) must be between 3 minutes 30 seconds and 4 minutes in length.
3. Each participant must provide at least 1 minute of dubbing. Only sound effects are not acceptable; one participant may voice multiple characters.
4. Background music and sound effects may be added, but original audio from the video cannot be used directly.
5. Scripts must be self-written and must not be identical to the original video.
6. Upload the video to YouTube and provide the YouTube link in the registration form. (Please ensure the link is accessible.)
7. Submit the self-written English dubbing script in PDF format through the registration form. The file must include: character assignment sheet, original video link/script/50-word summary, dubbed video link/script/50-word summary. (Appendix I)
8. The submitted video must include a front-facing shot of the voice actors. Reference award-winning videos: https://iec.pu.edu.tw/
9. By participating, contestants agree that their videos, images, and voices may be used for bilingual program promotion and exhibition purposes.
10. Registration and submission must be completed by December 1, 2026 (Tuesday) at 17:00. Late submissions will not be accepted.

V. Evaluation Criteria and Award Announcement

The top six teams will be selected based on the following criteria:

1.Rankings are determined by averaging the judges’ rankings. In case of a tie, the judges will decide the final result.

2. The list of winners will be announced on the International Education Center website (Latest News section) by 12:00 noon on December 14, 2026 (Monday).

3. The award ceremony will be held at noon on December 22, 2026 (Tuesday). Winners are required to deliver their acceptance speeches in English.
